1. Agreement

TotalGovt is a brand of Inferno45. These terms cover your use of the TotalGovt app and this website, run by Inferno45 ("we", "us"). By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

2. Information is unofficial

TotalGovt collects public information about government, such as officials, candidates, meetings, votes, and elections, and presents it in plain words. We link to the public source for each item and show when we last checked it. Even so, information can be late, incomplete, or wrong.

• TotalGovt is not an official source and is not legal advice.
• Please verify with official sources before you rely on anything, especially your voter registration, polling place, voting hours, deadlines, and what is on your ballot. Your county board of elections and your state board of elections are the official sources.
• Election night results are unofficial until they are certified by the proper election authority.
• Summaries describe what a bill or vote does. They are not a judgment about whether it is good.

3. Independent and non-partisan

TotalGovt is independent. It is not a government app, it is not made on behalf of any government, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency, election office, or political party. We do not endorse, rank, or score candidates or officials. Names and offices appear because they are public record.

4. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Give a real email address that you control, and keep your password private.
• You are responsible for activity on your account.
• You can delete your account at any time. See Delete your account.

5. Fair use

Please do not:

• break the law or use TotalGovt to harass or mislead anyone;
• try to break, overload, or get around the security of the app, our servers, or our providers;
• copy or scrape the app in bulk, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows;
• send false or spam reports or feedback.

6. Reports and feedback

If you send us a report or feedback, you let us use it to improve TotalGovt without owing you anything. Please do not include anything you want kept private.

7. Links and sources

TotalGovt links to other websites, including government websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or how they work.

8. Content and licenses

The TotalGovt name, logo, design, and software belong to Inferno45. Public records stay public. Some short biographies in the app come from Wikipedia and are used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, with a link back to the source. Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.

9. Availability and changes

Coverage varies by state and by place. We may add, change, or remove features, and the app or website may be unavailable at times. We may update these terms, and we will change the date above when we do. If you keep using TotalGovt after a change, you accept the new terms.

10. No warranty

TotalGovt is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it is accurate, complete, always available, or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Inferno45 is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for any loss that comes from relying on information in TotalGovt, such as a missed deadline or a wrong polling place. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Ending use

You can stop using TotalGovt at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or misuses the service.
