Delete your TotalGovt account

Three ways to do it. Pick the one that suits you.

1. In the app (fastest)

  1. Open TotalGovt and go to the About tab.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account and confirm.

This removes your account, saved districts, follows, stars, notification settings, push tokens, and any reports you sent.

2. Right here on this page

If the app is not on your phone, you can delete your account here. We email a one-time code to the address on your account to prove it is yours. Then you confirm, and the account is deleted right away.

3. By email

If the options above do not work for you, email us from the address you signed up with. We will delete the account and the data listed above, and reply to confirm.

Use the subject Delete my TotalGovt account. Send it from the email address on your account so we can match it. We may ask you to confirm it is you. Please do not send your password. We will never ask for it.

What is deleted

  • Your account and login email
  • Your saved county, town, and district numbers
  • People you follow and items you starred
  • Your notification settings and push tokens
  • Reports and feedback you sent
  • Your street address line and ballot picks are stored on your phone. They are removed when you delete your account in the app. If you delete another way, you can clear the app data in your phone settings or uninstall the app.

What is kept

Nothing tied to you is kept after deletion. Candidate and officeholder information is public record and is not part of your account. Anonymous usage stats collected by Google Firebase Analytics are not linked to your account.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Please use one of the ways above.
